چکیده
Coaxial Laser wire Direct Energy Deposition (L-DED) promises a direction-independent buildup due to centric supply of the welding material. To fabricate Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs), processing head was designed that is capable supplying two materials into zone. This study investigates direction dependency seams produced by 1.4718 metal wires with diameter 0.8 mm in coaxial laser setup using three separately controllable single beams maximum combined power 660 W. The are supplied simultaneously spot under an incidence angle 3.5° middle axis head. seam geometry investigated confocal laserscanning-microscope. A comparison height, width and macroscopic reveals influence on quality Double (LD-DED).

Energy Deposition in a Septum Wire
The present note describes a machine development (MD) aimed to confirm experimentally the need for protection of the extraction wire septum ZS in SPS long straight section LSS6 [1] during LHC operation. Single wires identical to the ones mounted on the extraction septum were fixed on a fast wire scanner and put into the beam path. The beam heated the wire until it broke after a measured number ...

The coaxial wire method provides an experimental way of measuring wake fields without the need for a particle beam. A special setup has been designed and is in the process of being fabricated at SLAC to measure the loss factors and synchronous frequencies of dipole modes in both traveling and standing wave structures for the Next Linear Collider (NLC). The method is described and predictions ba...
متن کاملNumerical simulation of heat transfer and fluid flow in coaxial laser cladding process for direct metal deposition
The coaxial laser cladding process is the heart of direct metal deposition DMD . Rapid materials processing, such as DMD, is steadily becoming a tool for synthesis of materials, as well as rapid manufacturing. Mathematical models to develop the fundamental understanding of the physical phenomena associated with the coaxial laser cladding process are essential to further develop the science base...
متن کاملUsing wire shaping techniques and holographic optics to optimize deposition characteristics in wire-based laser cladding
In laser cladding, the potential benefits of wire feeding are considerable. Typical problems with the use of powder, such as gas entrapment, sub-100% material density and low deposition rate are all avoided with the use of wire. However, the use of a powder-based source material is the industry standard, with wire-based deposition generally regarded as an academic curiosity. This is because, al...
متن کاملComponent repair using laser direct metal deposition
Recent studies have indicated that laser direct metal deposition can be used for repairing deep or internal cracks and defects in metallic components. In order to implement the method, it is necessary to machine a groove or slot to the depth of the defect and refill it. This work investigates advantages and potential problems with the technique and compares the results from using two different ...
